Ireland are set to be without Sean O'Brien for the start of the Six Nations after the flanker had a 'small procedure' to combat a hip injury.

O'Brien has been sidelined since Leinster's Champions Cup win against Exeter Chiefs at the Aviva Stadium in mid-December, subsequently speaking to the media about how a 'tightness' developed in his hip during the contest.
Leinster coach Leo Cullen had hoped to have the Tullow Tank available to face Glasgow in the penultimate Champions Cup pool game this weekend, but the province has today confirmed that O'Brien now won't be back until 'during the Six Nations window'.
Ireland's first game is away to France in Paris on February 3rd, with O'Brien looking set to miss out. The province also had bad news to report on wing Adam Byrne, with the Ireland international now forced to undergo surgery on his troublesome knee injury after rehab failed to fix the problem.
A return to play date for Byrne will not be known until after the procedure.
