The Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) is set to limit the length of time that executive committee members can remain in office.

The OCI yesterday held an extraordinary general meeting to agree changes to its constitution, aimed at enhancing governance of the organisation, as well as launching its new seven-year strategic plan running from 2018 to 2024.
A number of changes were recommended by a Deloitte report carried out following last year's Rio ticketing scandal.
OCI president Sarah Keane told a briefing prior to the EGM: "I think what is good for us is now we are starting to talk a bit more about what we are really about as an organisation. But the fallout from Rio is far from done. There are still a lot of things we have to manage as a board and we are committed to do so."
It emerged during the briefing that former OCI president Pat Hickey was entitled to sit on the board as an International Olympic Committee (IOC) member - but he had 'self-suspended' himself from duties.
Last September, Mr Hickey resigned from his position on the executive board of the IOC with immediate effect, in a 'self-suspension', while facing charges related to alleged ticket touting at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. He has maintained he is innocent.
